Jersey City, NJ- The Wagner women's swimming & diving team won its second straight meet, defeating Saint Peter's on Friday, 189-37.
Eight different Seahawks finished individually in first place in the win over the Peacocks.
Allie D'Allegro and
Ellie Eastwood led the way with two individual wins each. Other individual winners included reigning NEC Prime Performer
Annie Jencova,
Taylor Marjamaa,
Mary Tsianaka,
Judith Desforges,
Kate Wilkerson, and Raquel Rubalcava Reyes.
The Seahawks got off to a strong start at the Yanitelli Center. The 200 Yard Medley Relay team made up of
Shamiya Guirre, Eastwood, Wilkerson, and Desforges, won the first event of the afternoon with a time of 1:50.48. The other foursome for Wagner in the event made up of
Bree Anderson, D'Allegro, Jencova, and
Hannah Muro finished in second with a time of 1:53.46.
Wilkerson followed up her relay win with an individual victory in the 200 Yard Freestyle, hitting the wall at 1:59.44. Teammates Jencova and Muro finished right behind her in the event with times of 2:00.27 and 2:01.53, respectively.
D'Allegro's two wins on the day came in the 200 Yard Backstroke and 200 Yard Individual Medley. She posted times of 2:11.90 and 2:15.00 in the two events.
The Green & White posted a clean sweep of first to third place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Eastwood took first with plenty of time to spare, hitting the wall at 1:05.92. Anderson followed in second at 1:10.52 then Delore in third at 1:13.12.
Eastwood secured her second victory of the day in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:24.48, nearly nine seconds before the next swimmer hit the wall in the event.
The 100 Yard Butterfly also was a clean sweep for Wagner, as Jencova, Wilkerson, and Muro cruised to first, second, and third place, respectively. Jencova hit the wall at 58.87 while Wilkerson posted a 1:00.69 and Muro a 1:04.37.
The Seahawks are right back in the pool on Saturday when they head to Brooklyn Heights, NY to face St. Francis Brooklyn at 12:00 p.m.
