Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's soccer team continues its lengthy homestand on Thursday evening as the Seahawks welcome UMBC to Hameline Field. This match was originally scheduled to be Wagner's home opener back on August 22, but inclement weather forced a postponement.

Opening Kicks…
  • The Green & White evened out their record to 3-3-0 on the season and 2-1 in matches played at Hameline Field after defeating UAlbany, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.
  • Senior midfielder Gabby Cipriano scored her first career goal in the 59' minute after locating the loose ball through a logjam of Albany defenders and pushed one to the low left of the goal, giving Wagner an early 1-0 lead.
  • After Albany tied the score at 1-1 on a penalty kick conversion by Jasmine Colbert, junior tri-captain Annie White launched a 35-yard strike that bounced past the Great Danes keeper into the net in the 81' minute, ultimately giving Wagner the 2-1 victory.
  • For White, it was her second goal of the season and fourth of her career.
  • UMBC is looking to bounce back after falling, 2-1, on the road at Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon.
