Emmitsburg, MD – The Wagner women's lacrosse team looks to remain in the hunt for the top seed in the Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament when the Seahawks head to Waldron Family Stadium on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. opening draw with the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.
Wagner-Mount St. Mary's History
Wagner's won seven of the last nine match-ups, including the 2019 Conference Championship Game, 7-6, but the Hawks came out on top 11-6 in the most recent match-up between the two back on March 24.
Kasey Dorney scored twice and
Stefani Peluso added two assists.
Megan Drum,
Victoria Tucci,
Megan Greco, and
Erin Kerstetter all added a goal.
Last Time Out For Wagner
The Seahawks fell 13-12 to Sacred Heart last Saturday afternoon from Hameline Field.
Kerstetter and
Madeline Seims each recorded their 100th collegiate goals during the game; Seims finished with four goals and an assist, Kerstetter finished with two goals, two assists, five ground balls and seven draw controls.
Greco registered her fourth hat trick of the season, Dorney added two goals, three ground balls and four caused turnovers, and Drum added a goal for Wagner.
About Mount St. Mary's
The Mountaineers enter Saturday winners of their last 10, and are 9-0 in conference play.
Sara Moeller leads the team with 20 assists and 50 points, Jordan Butler is one point behind Moeller and tied for the team lead with 34 goals, and Alayna Pagnotta has 34 goals, including seven consecutive multi-goal games.
Jenna Oler has started 11 of 12 contests on the season, posting an 8.65 goals against average.
What's at Stake
Mount St. Mary's has the inside track to the top seed in the conference tournament, but Wagner still has a path to the top. The Green and White are also currently 0.5 games behind Long Island University (LIU) for second in the NEC standings.
