Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College swimming and diving team started its season with a 156:106 victory over Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon at the Spiro Sports Center.
Junior
Ellie Eastwood dominated in the pool, winning three individual races. Eastwood took first place in the 100 Breast in 1:07.08, 200 Breast (2:27.43) and 200 IM (2:12.47).
Sophomore
Maile Mora also shined, taking first place in the 200 Fly in 2:12.30, while touching second in the 200 Breast (2:31.43) and 200 IM (2:12.99).
Sophomore
Kira Bowling took first place in the 200 Free in 1:59.36 and 500 Free (5:20.75), while sophomore
Raquel Rubalcava Reyes touched first in the 1000 Free (11:18.57).
Freshman
Allie D'Allegro took second place in the 100 Back (1:00.53) and 200 IM (2:16.92) in her first ever collegiate competition.
Senior
Hande Kivanc, Eastwood, Mora, and sophomore
Hannah Muro teamed up for a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay in 1:50.22, while freshman
Cassondra Weeks, junior
Mary Tsianaka, Bowling, and Muro took first in the 400 Free Relay in 3:43.55.
Wagner returns to the pool next Friday, as the Seahawks are scheduled to take on St. Francis Brooklyn at 4:00 pm.
