New Britain, CT -- The Wagner College women's lacrosse team begins its quest for a fourth Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship since 2016 on Saturday, when the Seahawks head to New Britain for a 1:00 PM game with the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils.

Wagner-Central Connecticut Series:
The Seahawks lead the all-time head-to-head 7-3 thanks to four straight victories, most recently a 17-6 triumph back in April of 2019. Megan Drum scored seven times in the win, Madeline Seims scored four times, Erin Kerstetter totaled four points, and Stefani Peluso scored twice.

Last Time Out For Wagner:
In their first game in 350 days, the Green and White dropped a 19-18 overtime thriller at Villanova back on February 23. The teams remained within two goals of each other throughout a game that was tied on 12 different occasions. Down two with less than 30 seconds to play, junior Kasey Dorney and sophomore Megan Greco scored 10 seconds apart to send the game to overtime.

Senior Erin Kerstetter recorded game highs of six goals and nine draw controls, classmate Victoria Tucci added four goals, and Greco netted a hat trick; the goal-scoring tallies marked career highs for all three. Dorney scored twice, caused a turnover and added three draw controls; Seims added two goals.

About CCSU:
The Blue Devils are 0-2 on the young season. Morgan Sinton, Eliz Fina, and Molly Coogan rank first, second and third on the team in goals and points, respectively.

Central Connecticut trailed UMass-Lowell 9-8 near the end of the first half its last time out on February 28, but a 9-1 run by the River Hawks spanning more than 18 minutes of game time put things out of reach.

Up Next for Wagner:
The Seahawks welcome the Long Island University (LIU) Sharks to Hameline Field for their home opener at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10.
