Loretto, PA - The Wagner College softball team will travel to Loretto, PA this weekend for a four-game series at Saint Francis U.
Saturday's games are scheduled for 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, while first pitch on Sunday is set for noon and 2:00 pm. All four games will stream live on NECFrontRow.
The Seahawks enter the weekend with a 6-2 overall record and 2-2 Northeast Conference (NEC) mark after splitting both doubleheaders at Merrimack last weekend.
Graduate student
Amelia Van Orman led the Seahawks last weekend with a .600 average, picking up six hits and three RBIs. Van Orman also leads the Seahawks with a team-best 1.41 ERA in the circle this season and has not lost a decision yet this season, sitting at 2-0 on the year.
For her efforts, Van Orman was named an NEC Prime Performer last week.
Junior
Eve Harvey is the Seahawks' leader with three wins and 22 strikeouts in 26.2 innings.
Freshman
Keaghan Ward is now second on the team with a .440 average, picking up six hits last weekend at Merrimack.
As a team, the Seahawks have three hitters with a batting average of .400 or higher in Van Orman, Ward, and graduate student
Zoe Bender, who is batting .407 on the season.
Two weeks ago, Bender and Harvey earned NEC Player and Pitcher of the Week honors after leading the Seahawks to a 4-0 start to the season.
This weekend's games will mark the conference opener for Saint Francis U, as the Red Flash enters the series with a 15-6 overall record.
Saint Francis U has won three consecutive NEC Championships.
Following this weekend's road trip to Saint Francis U, the Seahawks will be home for their next eight doubleheaders, starting with a four-game series against Bryant on Grymes Hill on April 2-3.
