Staten Island, NY – Northeast Conference (NEC) front-runners will meet in a long-awaited showdown on Wednesday, when Wagner's women's lacrosse team comes to Hameline Field for a 3:00 p.m. opening draw with the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.

Wagner-Mount St. Mary's History
Wagner's won seven of the last eight match-ups, including the 2019 Conference Championship Game, 7-6.

The Seahawks twice trailed by two goals in the game, but Madeleine Seims and Erin Kerstetter each scored their second goals of the game in a low-scoring second half for both teams, while Megan Drum and Victoria Tucci each added a goal for the Seahawks.

Last Time Out For Wagner
The Seahawks doubled up Merrimack last Saturday, 22-11, at Duane Stadium, remaining undefeated in NEC play at 4-0.

Seims, the recently announced NEC Player of the Week, scored a career-best seven goals, adding two assists, sophomore Megan Greco set her own career-high with six goals, senior Stefani Peluso scored four times and handed out two assists, and Kerstetter finished with six assists.

Elsewhere, Drum scored twice, Tucci added a goal, and junior Kasey Dorney had a well-balanced game with two goals, an assist, 11 draw controls and three caused turnovers.

About Mount St. Mary's
The Mountaineers enter Wednesday 3-0 in NEC play, the lone remaining undefeated team in conference play other than Wagner.

Jordan Butler leads the Mountaineers in goals and points. Sara Moeller and Alayna Pagnotta rank second and third, respectively in each category. Jenna Oler's started all six games in net thus far, posting a save percentage of .470 with a goals against average of 9.17.

What's at Stake
Both teams enter Wednesday winners of their last four.

A win for Wagner would increase their hold on first place in the conference. A Mount St. Mary's win would give them a half-game lead on the Seahawks for the top spot in the conference.

Up Next for Wagner
The Seahawks head north Saturday, March 27, continuing NEC play with a 1:00 p.m. opening draw against the Sacred Heart Pioneers.
