Vestal, CA - The Wagner College women's soccer team returns back to the Empire State and will travel to Upstate New York as the Seahawks get set to face the Binghamton University Bearcats on Thursday evening.
LAST TIME OUT FOR WAGNER:Â
- The Green & White traveled to the West Coast for the first time since 2010, as they took on Saint Mary's (CA) on Sunday afternoon.Â
- Despite trailing 2-1 at halftime, the Seahawks fell to the Gaels, 6-1, at Saint Mary's Stadium.Â
- After Saint Mary's scored a pair of goals, the Seahawks climbed back into the contest, as in the 28th minute, junior Le'la Allen found the back-of-the-net for her first goal of the season, which cut the lead in half.Â
- Wagner nearly tied the match ten minutes later as Mya Donnelly's shot went wide and a minute later, sophomore Luisa Barone's attempt also went wide of the net.Â
- The Gaels threatened to up its lead but freshman Isabella Manzella was up to the task as she turned away a pair shots, one with just ten seconds remaining before halftime in keeping it a one-goal game.Â
- Saint Mary's took control in the second half, scoring nine minutes into the stanza and adding two tallies a minute apart before icing the match with a goal in the 87th minute.Â
SERIES HISTORY:
- Thursday's contest between Wagner and Binghamton marks just the second all-time meeting between the two schools, as the Bearcats defeated the Seahawks, 4-0, in Vestal back on September 10, 2006.Â

ALL-TIME AGAINST THE AMERICA EAST CONFERENCE:
- Thursday marks Wagner's 34th all-time match against a current member of the America East Conference.Â
- The Seahawks are 3-26-4 all-time against the current conference members.Â
- Wagner has yet to face New Hampshire and Vermont in its history.
ABOUT BINGHAMTON:
- The Bearcats enter play with a 4-2 overall record, after falling in its most recent contest, 2-0, on the road at George Mason.
- Binghamton is 2-0 this season in home tilts, defeating St. Bonaventure (2-0) and Manhattan (2-0).Â
- Olivia McKnight repeated as America East Rookie of the Week, as she tallied two second-half goals on the road at American, in propelling the Bearcats to a 3-1 win over the Eagles.Â
- McKnight leads the team and conference in goals scored (4) and points (10), while ranking in the nation's top-50 in both categories.Â
- Essie Bonney has added in three goals and six points, which includes one game-winner.Â
- In goal, Haylee Poltorak has made 18 saves (.720 save percentage) while allowing just seven goals (1.17 GAA) in boasting a 4-2-0 record.Â
- The Bearcats have outshot their opponents, 81-52 thus far this season while attempting 37 corners, 19 of which coming in the first half of action.Â
- Binghamton was predicted seventh in the 2019 America East Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. The team is currently tied with Stony Brook for first-place with identical 4-2 records.Â
