New York, NY – The Wagner College softball team will take the road for the final time this season, as the Seahawks travel to Ivy League member Columbia on Wednesday for a single game.
The Seahawks are coming into Wednesday's matchup with a 13-26 overall record, while the Lions enter the contest with an 18-17 mark and a 10-4 record in Ivy League play.
After winning the NEC's regular season batting title last season, senior
Karen Prihoda once again ranks among the top-10 in the league with a .358 average, while also ranking second in the NEC with 40 runs scored on the year, in addition to leading the league with 23 stolen bases.
The Seahawks also have two hitters among the top six in runs batted in, with junior
Kaila Smith ranking third with 38, and freshman
Natalie Del Ponte sixth with 35. Smith also sits in sixth with seven home runs on the year.
The Seahawks will conclude the regular season this weekend with a pair of Northeast Conference (NEC) doubleheaders against Fairleigh Dickinson and Central Connecticut.
Sunday's matchup against the Blue Devils will also mark senior day, where Wagner will honor seniors
