IC4A | ECAC Results 

Boston, MA – Members of the Wagner men's and women's indoor track and field team competed at the 2019 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Boston University.
 
Competing in her second ECAC Championship, sophomore Adia Cavalier broke the school record in the triple jump, reaching 12.29m, while placing fifth overall. Making their debuts at the annual championship were sophomore Anna Greentree, who participated in the 500m dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:15.17, and classmate Tiffany Hanna, who competed in the shot put, with her best throw landing 14.94m.
 
On the men's side, sophomore Trausti Thorstein, who was named Most Outstanding Performer at this year's Northeast Conference (NEC) Indoor Track & Field Championship, rewrote the program's record book, as he etched a new standard in the mile with a time of 4:07.76, set during the preliminary round. Thorstein finished seventh overall in the finals, with a time of 4:07.67.  Junior teammate Jonathan Besselink also ran the mile, finishing with a time of 4:10.18.
 
Participating in the 60m and 200m dash, freshman Joshua Cadet clocked in at 7.19 in the 60m dash, and turned in a time of 22.19 in the 200m. Sophomore Brandon Brown concluded the event at 22.35.
 
Freshman William Cuthbertson raced in the 800m and posted a time of 1:57.34 while the 4x800 quartet of Besselink, Cuthbertson, junior Nick Velez and senior Matthew Whalen ranked among the top-15, finishing 11th with a time of 7:42.11.
 
In the field events, senior Lutfi Pocesta broke the school record for the third time this season, earning seventh overall with his best throw reaching 17.93m. Justin Mirfield was among the top-15 in the long jump, as he cleared 6.79m to place 12th.
 
With the conclusion of the ECAC/IC4A's, both programs will gear up for their first outdoor meet of the season, as they will compete at the VCU Ram Invitational, which will be held March 16-17 on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
