Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's lacrosse team will look to extend its winning streak to five on Saturday, when the Seahawks host the Manhattan College Jaspers in a 1:00 p.m. start at Hameline Field.
The Green & White are coming off a momentous victory, having knocked off Monmouth for the first time in program history after 19 previous tries, as the Seahawks galloped out to a 10-3 lead before hanging on for a 10-9 win.
Saturday's matchup between the Seahawks and the Jaspers will feature a pair of teams with matching 5-2 season records.
Sophomore midfielder Erin Kerstetetter continues to pace Wagner in scoring with 19 points (12g, 7a), followed closely by fellow second-year middie,
Victoria Tucci, who checks in with 18 points (10g, team-high 8 assists). There's a two-way tie for third-place scoring honors between yet another sophomore midfielder,
Madeline Seims (team-high 16 goals 0a), and junior attack
Stephanie Falcone (14g, 2a).
Kerstetter also leads the Seahawks in draw controls with a whopping 39, while Seims and senior attack
Megan Drum, coming off a hat trick at Monmouth, are in double-digits in DCs as well with 21 and 10, respectively.
The Wagner defense, which held Monmouth five goals below its season average last time out, features three defenders who have combined for 31 caused turnovers in senior
Maggie Jent, who leads the way with 11, while her classmate
Maddie Courtney and junior
Lindsay Haas have 10 apiece. Courtney also paces the team in ground balls with 24.
In goal, senior
Kelsey Fee, whose five second-half saves helped stave off Monmouth, boasts a 9.31 goals against average, with a save percentage of .479.
