Results
Brooklyn, NY – The Wagner College swimming and diving team closed out the regular season with a 156.00 – 106.00 victory over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Seahawks finish the season with a 9-4 record in dual meets and will continue preparations for the Northeast Conference Championships, which will take place from February 13-16.
This afternoon, the Seahawks were bouyed by outstanding individual performances from junior
Makenna Depuydt, freshman
Ellie Eastwood, and sophomore
Hande Kivanc, while also winning both relay contests.
Junior
Emily Moore, Eastwood along with seniors
Andrea Gustafsson, and
Dorian McMenemy won the 200 Medley Relay in 1:48.03, while Depuydt, sophomore
Madeleine Delore, Gustafsson, and McMenemy took first in the 400 Free Relay in 3:37.15.
Depuydt dominated the freestyle discipline, winning the 200 Free (1:56.29), 100 Free (53.54), and 500 Free (5:15.53).
Eastwood continued the strong start to her collegiate career with wins in the 100 Breast (1:05.66) and 200 Breast (2:24.21), while Kivanc took first in the 200 Back (2:08.66) and 200 IM (2:12.41)
Gustafsson rounded out the Seahawk victories with a first-place finish in the 50 Free in 25.00 just four hundreths of a second ahead of McMenemy (25.04).
The NEC Championships will take place in East Meadow, NY and will be streamed live and free of charge on NECFrontRow, the conference's digital streaming platform.
