Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team gears up for back-to-back Northeast Conference (NEC) doubleheaders at Central Connecticut on Saturday and at Bryant on Sunday.
Last season, the Green and White split both matchups with the Blue Devils and Bulldogs. Against CCSU, the Seahawks earned a 9-6 victory in game two, powered by a 3-4 performance by
Karen Prihoda, who currently leads the team with 13 RBIs and is also tied with sophomore
Zoe Bender with the team lead with 22 hits.
Wagner also earned a 3-0 shutout victory against the Bulldogs last season, as senior
Morgan Brown allowed just four hits and struck out five batters in five innings to earn the win.
In the circle, the Seahawks, who are currently sitting at 6-17 overall and 0-3 in NEC play, are powered by freshman
Arielle Koerber, who leads the team with five wins and 63.2 innings pitched.
The Bulldogs are 7-18 on the year and 1-1 in the NEC, while CCSU enters the weekend with an 11-18 overall record.
After this weekend, the Green and White will take on Saint Peters for two games on Tuesday, April 10, starting at 2:00 pm.
