Staten Island, NY – Heading into the final weekend of regular season competition, the Wagner College softball team will celebrate its senior class on Saturday ahead of a 1:00 p.m. Northeast Conference (NEC) doubleheader against Robert Morris.
Prior to first pitch, Wagner will honor
Stefanie Aplin,
Morgan Brown,
Maddie Marable, and
Maite Reece. Together, this group was a critical part of Wagner's run to the 2017 NEC Championship series in helping the Seahawks to their most successful season in a decade.
This season, the quartet makes up almost half of the Green and White's starting lineup on a regular basis.
The Seahawks come into the weekend with a 12-26 record and are 2-9 in NEC play, while the Colonials enter play with a 10-30 overall record and a 1-9 conference mark.
Brown continues to dominate in the circle against NEC opponents, holding the opposition to a 1.96 ERA while going the distance in all six of her NEC starts.
At the plate, junior
Karen Prihoda leads the conference in doubles with 12, while sitting in third in batting average (.349), as well as second in runs scored (30).
On Sunday, Wagner will close out the 2018 season with a doubleheader at Fairleigh Dickinson, starting at noon.
