Hamden, CT – Mike Fletcher and Matt Frost combined to score six goals in leading the Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team to an 11-3 victory over Wagner on Saturday.
With the win, the Bobcats even their record at 3-3 while the Seahawks fall to 2-4 on the season.
Quinnipiac, a former Northeast Conference (NEC) member, which now competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), took a 3-0 lead after the first quarter of play.
With the visitors up 4-0, Wagner got on the board when junior attackman
Davis Prince, an Ontario native who starred at Genesee Community College, scored his first collegiate goal at the 6:10 mark as he was able to corral the rebound off the missed opportunity from junior attackman,
Andrew Streilein, that cut the deficit to three, 4-1. Quinnipiac added one more score in taking a 5-1 lead into the half.
With 13:23 remaining in the game and Quinnipiac up, 10-1, Streilein netted the first of his two goals, the first on a unassisted man-up score, to make it 10-2. When the visitors added another marker to make it 11-2, the third-year Seahawk found the back of the net off a well-timed Prince assist.

Andrew Park led Wagner in caused turnovers with three. Junior defenseman
Kevin Doherty paced the Seahawks in ground balls with five while junior
Matt Sefcik came up with 14 saves in goal.
The Bobcats led in shots (49-20) and ground balls (25-19) while winning a decisive 15-of-18 faceoffs. QU forced Wagner into 19 turnovers while the Bobcats were guilty of 11.
The Green & White are next in action on Saturday, March 17 when they host Hobart in the NEC opener. The St. Patrick's Day faceoff at Hameline Field is set for 1:00 p.m.
