CoSIDA Press Release

Staten Island, NY –
A pair of seniors on the Wagner College football team, offensive lineman Brady Hudik and tight end Chris Woodard, have, for the second straight year, been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team for District 1 as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Each year, CoSIDA recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.  Hudik and Woodard, along with the rest of the First-team Academic All-District honorees, will now be nominated for possible inclusion on the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.
The 6-5, 315-pound Hudik, who boasts a 3.778 GPA as a Business Administration Major, anchors a Seahawk offensive line that has helped Wagner eclipse the 40-point mark three times, highlighted by last week's 52-36 win at Bryant.

One of Wagner's five team captains, the Bordentown, NJ native began the season at left guard before being switched to right tackle, a move that solidified the offensive line and helped pave the way for RB Ryan Fulse to become the nation's No. 2 rusher with 1,481 yards.

A durable and productive performer, Hudik who has started all 32 games that he has played in during his career.

In addition to this most recent honor, Hudik has been a member of the NEC Fall Academic Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.75 or higher) each of the last two years.
The 6-4, 240-pound Woodard, a second-team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2017, is putting the finishing touches on another potential all-conference season. Coming into this Saturday's season finale at Robert Morris, the 6-4, 240-pound North Tonawanda, NY native is the Seahawks' second-leading receiver with 24 receptions for 262 yards and five touchdowns.

Among those five TDs was a game-winning 18-yard reception with six seconds left to play in lifting Wagner to a 23-22 win over Saint Francis U (10/13), as well as a 24-yard TD catch at FBS member Syracuse (9/8). Woodard has three or more receptions in five games, highlighted by a career-high 5 catches for 69 yards vs. Duquesne.

A member of the 2016 and 2017 NEC Fall Academic Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.75 or better), Woodard boasts a 3.862 GPA as a Physics Major.

Wagner will close out the 2018 season on Saturday, November 17 with a noon kickoff at Robert Morris.

NOTE: NCAA Division I – District 1 is comprised of colleges and universities from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
