STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Former Wagner football standout defensive lineman Chris Williams is set to compete in the NFL Playoffs on Saturday as a member of the Chicago Bears.
Williams and the Bears secured a postseason berth for the first time since 2020, finishing the regular season with 11 wins—Chicago's highest total since 2018. The Bears will host the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round on Saturday, January 10, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
In his second season with Chicago, Williams appeared in 14 games, totaling 14 tackles and one sack along the defensive front.
During his collegiate career at Wagner, Williams earned back-to-back All-NEC honors, including a First Team selection in 2019. He emerged as an NFL prospect following a dominant senior season and a standout performance at the prestigious East-West Shrine Bowl alongside teammate Cam Gill. Williams finished his final year with 62 tackles, four sacks, and 11.5 tackles for loss. He recorded two sacks in Wagner's victory over LIU and led the Green & White with 11 tackles in the season-opening matchup at FBS opponent UConn.
