Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College swimming and diving team earned its ninth consecutive dual meet victory, as the Seahawks beat the University of Rhode Island by a score of 160.00 – 99.00 on Saturday at the Spiro Sports Center.

The win pushes Wagner's dual meet record to 9-1 on the season with only one more meet to go before this year's Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships, which will take place from February 21-24.

Sophomore Makenna Depuydt was victorious in three events, taking first place in the 1000 Free (10:43.10), 100 Free (54.94), and 500 Free (5:16.70). The sophomore has now won four events in her last two competitions.

Senior captain Leahi Camacho picked up two wins on the afternoon, touching first in the 200 Free (1:57.78) and 200 IM (2:12.19).

Junior Dorian McMenemy led the way in the 50 Free, placing first in 25.17 ahead of fellow junior Andrea Gustafsson (25.17), who later won the 100 Fly in 59.13.

Freshman Hande Kivanc followed up her solid performance at the Fairfield Tri-Meet with a victory in the 200 Back (2:08.09) and a second place in the 200 IM (2:12.28), while fellow first-year Seahawk Wyeth Spike finished first in the 100 Back (59.76).

The Green and White's 200 Medley Relay, consisting of sophomores Emily Moore and Colleen Higgins, senior Kirsty Hessing, and junior Andrea Gustafsson, finished second in 1:50.83.

The Seahawks will next be in action in two weeks, as they welcome LIU Brooklyn to the Spiro Sports Center for a senior meet showdown at 1:00 pm.
