Seahawks Travel To Manhattan To Play Two Games On Tuesday

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team returns from its road trip to Utah, as it takes on the Manhattan Jaspers tomorrow, starting at 2:00 pm.

Schedule Change: Tomorrow's games were originally scheduled as the to be played in Staten Island on Wednesday,  but will now be played on Tuesday at Manhattan.

Seahawks Stand Tall Against BYU: Wagner compiled two runs in the fourth and two in the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead in game two of Friday's doubleheader before falling to nationally-ranked BYU on a walk-off fielder's choice in the seventh. Sophomore Jessica Carlucci (Manalapan, NJ / Saint John Vianney High School) and senior Brianna Tredway (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown West) both had RBI doubles in the contest.

Scouting The Jaspers: Manhattan enters tomorrow's doubleheader with an even 7-7 record, which includes wins over Harvard, Hartford, Colgate, Columbia, and Yale. The Jaspers have won four straight contests coming into the week and are led offensively by Christine Gebhardt's nineRBIs on the young season.

Last Time Out Against Manhattan: A three-run seventh inning rally lifted the Wagner College softball team over the Manhattan Jaspers in game two of last year's doubleheader after dropping a hard-fought battle in game one. After falling 10-9 in game one, the Seahawks rallied for a 3-1 victory in the second contest. Tredway was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and three singles with one run scored and one RBI.

Goodale Makes History: Senior pitcher McKaleigh Goodale (Bradenton, FL / Lakewood Ranch) became Wagner's all-time saves leader in Wagner's victory, as the Bradenton, FL shut the door for the seventh time in her career to move past Wagner greats Morgan Miller and Krystle Petty on the all-time saves list. The senior has six appearances on the year and is tied for the team lead with eight strikeouts on the season.

Milestone Watch: Senior Brianna Tredway hit her 30th career double in Wagner's loss to Utah State on March 10 and is up to 32 for her career. The fourth-year Seahawk needs seven more doubles to tie Victoria Bastistelli for fifth on the all-time list and currently leads the team with a .535 average. Former Wagner great Andrea Lazzari currently leads the category with 50 doubles throughout her career.

Next Up For Wagner: The Seahawks will play their home opener against Fairfield on Thursday, with first pitch scheduled for 2:00 pm, which starts off a set of six games in four days.
