Staten Island, NY – The No. 19-ranked Wagner women's water polo team travels to Lewisburg, PA for a four-game stint at the Bison Invitational, hosted by Bucknell University February 11-12.
After securing its first win of the 2017 campaign with a
10-5 victory over Harvard University, the Green & White open up the 18-game tournament against the Crimson Saturday, February 9 at 1:45 pm. In the first meeting between the two teams on February 4, freshman
Millie Pullyblank (Victoria, Australia / Haileybury Girls School) buried a team-high five goals as the Seahawks pulled away from the Crimson with an early 3-0 run in the second quarter to take a 5-2 lead. Two-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week
Emily Riddle (Edmonton, Alberta / Dr. E.P. Scarlett) led Wagner defensively, registering a season-high ten saves as well as a season-low five goals against.
Harvard will be looking for redemption against the Seahawks, after the two teams switched places in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 25 Poll. Previously ranked No. 19, the Crimson now sit at No. 21 after the Green & White moved up two spots.
Wagner will then face two Division III opponents, Gannon (Feb. 11 at 9:15 pm), and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Feb. 12 at 10:30 am) before closing out the weekend against the host Bison (Feb. 12 at 2:15 pm).
The Wagner-Bucknell match-up will mark the capstone contest of the three-day tournament and will be streamed live from Kinney Natatorium. Fans can access the live coverage for free

The Seahawks who went 4-0 at the Bison Invitational in 2016 will look towards reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week,
Emily Riddle and Rookie of the Week,
Franciska Miló-Sidló (Budapest, Hungary / Pasaréti Gimnázium), as they hope to notch four more victories on the season.
