Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team prepares for another full weekend of Northeast Conference (NEC) play, beginning with a doubleheader at Fairleigh Dickinson University on Saturday, April 30, at 1:00 p.m. before concluding the weekend with its final home doubleheader of the 2016 season on Sunday, May 1, at the Wagner Softball Field against LIU Brooklyn at 12:00 p.m.
Prior to the start of the first game on Sunday against the Blackbirds, Wagner will hold a Senior Day ceremony, recognizing its two seniors who have contributed greatly to the Seahawk softball program, both on and off the field over the last four years, in
Megan Moore (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and
Brenda Bott (Fountain Valley, CA/Fountain Valley).
Scouting the Seahawks
The Seahawks sport an overall record of 18-23-0, 3-7 in the NEC and are currently on a four-game winning streak as they head into this weekend's conference games.
Freshman catcher
Jessica Carlucci (Manalapan, NJ/Saint John Vianney) hit two home runs and drove in six RBIs to lead Wagner to a 4-0 sweep over Iona and Sacred Heart in the past two doubleheaders. She had a walk-off single in a 4-3 win over the Gaels last Wednesday and a two-run home run to break a 2-2 deadlock in Wagner's 4-2 victory over Sacred Heart in game two of last Saturday's doubleheader.
Freshman second baseman
Karen Prihoda (Hamilton Square, NJ/The Lawrenceville School) currently leads the team with a .315 batting average. Prihoda was 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI last Saturday game one of Wagner's sweep over the Pioneers.

Player to Watch: Madelaine Wilen
Senior catcher Madelaine Wilen leads the Knights with a .375 batting average, 45 hits, 28 runs scored and 12 doubles. She also holds a team-high .617 slugging percentage and third overall with 14 runs batted in.
Fairleigh Dickinson hosts Wagner after dropping a 7-3 decision to Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon. Wilen scored one of the two runs for the Knights' after she was hit home on a Kellie Natham sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the third inning.

Player to Watch: Kayla Gloady
Currently on a 10-game winning streak, LIU Brooklyn welcomes Sacred Heart for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 30, before crossing the Verrazano Bridge to face the Seahawks in Sunday's senior day twinbill.
Gloady delivered a game-winning RBI single in extra innings to lift the Blackbirds over Rutgers 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon to extend the winning streak to 10. The Blackbird's two conference losses were both the second game of doubleheaders against Saint Francis University and Bryant by scores of 6-0, and 5-1, respectively.
Gloady currently holds a .312 batting average with 34 hits and 21 runs batted in. Victoria Zamora leads the Blackbirds with a .375 batting average and five home runs.
