Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College softball team will host Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Sacred Heart in a doubleheader on Saturday with game one set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
Saturday's doubleheader is also Alumni Day for the Wagner Softball program, an initiative instituted this year by first-year head coach
Angie Churchill, with more than 20 former Seahawks expected to be on hand.
Scouting the Seahawks
The Seahawks sport an overall record of 16-23, 1-7 in the NEC as they head into Saturday's conference doubleheader.
Wagner is fresh off of a doubleheader sweep over the Iona Gaels with final scores of 4-3 and 7-0, respectively. Freshman catcher
Jessica Carlucci (Manalapan, NJ/Saint John Vianney) delivered a walk-off RBI single in game one as the Seahawks put up three runs in a late seventh inning rally to defeat the Gaels 4-3 in game one.
In game two, sophomore
Maddie Marable (Reno, NV/Earl Wooster) connected on a two-run homer to give the Seahawks a comfortable 5-0 lead. Junior
McKaleigh Goodale (Bradenton, FL/Lakewood Ranch) put the game away with another two-run home run in the very next inning to secure the 7-0 victory.
Goodale finished the day undefeated in the circle, improving to 7-9 on the season. The Sunshine State native struck out five batters in 8.2 innings pitched with no walks while scattering just six hits.

Erica Krumbine (Freehold, NJ/Saint John Vianney) leads the Seahawks with a .322 batting average while junior centerfielder
Brianna Tredway (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) paces Wagner with 42 hits and 10 doubles.

On Wednesday, April 20, the Pioneers The Pioneers dropped a 5-2 decision to Yale in the first game of a doubleheader before playing to a 1-1 tie in game two that was called after eight innings due to darkness.
Sacred Heart carries a 2-6 NEC record into Saturday's twinbill with the two conference wins coming over Bryant (1-0) and Robert Morris (3-1).
Sophomore Lauren Delgadillo leads the Pioneers with a .279 batting average, 38 hits and 16 RBIs. Junior Kelyn Fillmore is second overall on the team in batting average (.272) and hits (31). In Wednesday's doubleheader against Yale, Fillmore launched a solo home run in game one to cut the deficit to 4-2 in bottom half of the sixth inning.
