Easton, PA – After posting a 7-9 record down south, the Wagner Softball team again hits the road for a twinbill against the Lafayette Leopards on Saturday, March 19, with first pitch of game one set for 1:00 p.m. followed by an approximate start time of 3:00 p.m. for game two of the doubleheader.
Last Time Out The Seahawks are coming off of a run-rule shutout victory on March 12 against the Binghamton Bearcats at the Stetson Classic, held in DeLand, FL. Wagner stunned the Bearcats, putting up nine earlyruns en route to the 9-0, five-inning win. Sophomore pitcher

Maddie Marable (Reno, NV/Earl Wooster) is currently second on the team with a .360 batting average on18 hits. She has tallied nine RBI's with one home run and a double. Junior leftfielder
Hana Gilbert (Valley Center, CA/Valley Center) also has an impressive resume, having amassed a team leading 15 RBIs with five doubles and two home runs on the season thus far. Her .538% slugging percentage is second-highest on the team while boasting a .321 batting average.

Player to Watch: Samantha Sweigart
Second baseman Samantha Sweigart leads the Leopards in batting average (.364) and hits (12). In 11 games started, she has scored six runs and produced a .455 slugging percentage. The Leopards, who compete in the Patriot League, are coming off a 2-1 loss to the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening. Trailing 2-0 through six innings, first baseman Allison Brown connected for a solo shot to left center, cutting the deficit to 2-1 before leaving the tying run on second.
