Box Score Pictured Above: Aerika HighRock Hill, SC – The Wagner softball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Canisius College on the final day of the Winthrop Tournament today.
With the loss, the Seahawks begin their 2016 Campaign 2-3 overall.
The Griffins took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning off of back-to-back homeruns from sophomore Moriah Harris and junior Lindsey Silfer.
Canisius tallied another run in the bottom of the third inning after Silfer singled to center field to score the Griffin's Meghan Cuda.
Wagner recorded a total of three hits on the day from junior third baseman
Aerika High (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central), who doubled to left field in the top of the third inning. Junior left fielder
Hana Gilbert (Valley Center, CA/Valley Center) and sophomore right fielder
Laura Petri (Warminster, PA/William Tenant) each tallied a single against the Griffins.

Morgan Brown (Buckeye, AZ/Verrado) started for the Seahawks and pitched three innings with one strikeout. Junior
McKaleigh Goodale (Bradenton, FL/Lakewood Ranch) came in for relief, pitching the final three innings, giving up just one run to the Griffins.
Up Next The Seahawks travel to Deland, FL for ten days to compete in the Stetson Tournament during the College's spring break. Wagner will begin the trip taking on tournament host, Stetson University, in a 4:00 p.m. contest on March 4.
