Lewisburg, PA – The Wagner women's swimming & diving team dropped its first meet since returning from winter break to Bucknell University 178-117 on Sunday afternoon.
Katja Claesson (Fullerton, CA/Troy) collected a pair of wins to remain undefeated on the weekend in all of her individual events. The junior took first place in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.38 and in the 200 Breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:23.44. Claesson won both of the same events just a day before and also set a
Wagner pool record in the 100 Breaststroke in a victory against the University of Rhode Island.
Other stellar performances on Sunday came from sophomore
Maddie McNichol (Downington, PA/Henderson), who claimed two second-place finishes in her individual events against the Bison. McNichol touched the wall in a time of 1:55.48 in the 200 Freestyle and in the 500 Free, swam a 5:12.97.
Senior
Amanda Lucia (Easthampton, MA/Easthampton) finished second overall in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:06.79, while fellow senior
Maggie Shaw (Chantilly,VA/Chantilly) garnered second place in the 1,000 Free, recording a time of 10:41.11.
On the 3-meter diving boards, sophomore
Sam Lavrich (Audubon, PA/Methacton) took home first place honors, collecting 227.20 points, while senior
Erica Curry (Fountain Valley, CA/Fountain Valley) claimed third place with a total of 205.25 points.
