ResultsLincroft, NJ – The Wagner men's cross country team placed fifth at the Monmouth XC 6K Kick-Off to begin their season.
Monmouth captured first as they placed six runners within the top 10 individually.
The Seahawks were paced by sophomore
Joseph Abbatiello (Fredericksburg, VA/ Stafford) who finished 10th among Division I competitors after crossing the finish line at 19:41.66.
Freshman
Matthew Whalen (Smithtown, NY/ Smithtown East) had an impressive collegiate debut as he placed 39th of Division I competitors with a mark of 21:16.72. A trio of Seahawks weren't far off that time as fellow freshman
Dan Ziebarth (Beaver Dam, WI/ Beaver Dam) crossed at 21:30.16, sophomore
Tre' Williams (Philadelphia, PA/ William Penn Charter) recorded a time of 21:39.12 and senior
Darius Moulton (Brisbane, Australia/ St. Josephs Gregory Terrace) stopped the clock at 21:53.98. The trio placed 41st, 42nd, and 45th respectively.
Rounding out the squad was sophomore
Jack Schnorbus (Haymarket, VA/ Battlefield) who claimed 50th with a mark of 22:54.21.
The Green & White are back in action on September 12th as they will compete in the Monmouth Invitational.
