Skylar Johnson's (Point Pleasant, NJ/ Point Pleasant Borough) record breaking performance in conditions that weren't ideal for .
Men's HighlightsJohnson was the standout from the meet as he cleared a personal and Wagner best 4.70m
(15'5") in the pole vault to claim first place in the event. The Garden State native's record mark bested his previous school record of 4.55m in outdoor competition.
Johnson on his performance "Felt good to jump 15'5", I've been working hard to come back from an injury and to do it in less than ideal conditions makes it special."
Junior
Darius Moulton (Brisbane, Australia/ St. Josephs Gregory Terrace) continued his successful year as he finished first in the 1500m event with a time of 4:10.63. Senior
Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY/ North Rockland) placed third with a mark of 4:12.40. Moulton and Mendez run towards the top of the pack the entire race as it was Moulton he spread the gap towards the last 200m to win the event.
The Green & White nabbed the three through five spots in the 5,000m as the trio was led by senior
Jacob Malakoff (Tasmania, Australia/ Friends) who recorded a time of 15:52.17. Senior
James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY/ North Rockland) claimed second in a time of 15:52.21 and freshman
Joseph Abbatiello (Fredericksburg, VA/ Stafford) placed fifth with a mark of 15:52.27.
Senior
Dante Fernandez (Newark, NJ/ Central) was impressive in the 400m has he recorded a time of 52.48 to nab the silver.
Freshman
Quincy Rasin (New Bern, NC. New Bern) finished third in the 800m in a very tight race that nearly saw the North Carolina native catch the top place finisher. Rasin completed the 800m in 2:01.93 as he couldn't quite make up the ground he gave at the beginning of the race.
Junior
Michael Henrich (Point Pleasant, NJ/ Point Pleasant Borough) placed second in the high jump with a leap of 1.90m and sophomore
Hamza Ahmed (Basking Ridge, NJ/ Ridge) finished fifth of the 16 competitors as he cleared 1.85m.
Wagner's success in the field events continued as sophomore
Kendle Bramble (Freeport, NY/ Baldwin) claimed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 12.86m. Freshman
Darrell Green (Woodside, DE/ Polytech) had a strong showing as well as he registered a throw of 11.55m placing 10th of 31 competitors.
Women's HighlightsSenior
Victoria Spector (Yaphank, NY/ Longwood) led a trio of Wagner athletes toward the top of the pack in the 5k as she placed first with a time of 18:47.31.
Lorraine Brancale (Staten Island, NY/ St. Joseph Hill/ NYU) finished third with
Nicole Bell (Branchville, NJ/ Sussex County Technical) taking fourth as they posted times of 18:50.21 and 18:50.52.
Freshman
Halima Diawara (Toms River, NJ/ Toms River North) led a stacked Wagner 400m event that saw the team place five individuals in the top nine. Diawara finished first with a time of 1:01.19 besting the field of 26 entrants. Senior
Imani Jones nabbed third with a mark of 1:02.46, freshman
Brianna Hoffman (Yaphank, NY/ Longwood) placed fifth with a time of 1:05.20, sophomore
Florina Jajaga (Staten Isalnd, NY/ Port Richmond/ Holy Family) claimed seventh in 1:05.94 and sophomore Brianna Munoz (Middle Island, NY/ Longwood) finished ninth with a time of 1:06.54.
Emily Pereira placed second in the 1500m event as twin sister
Kelly Pereira claimed fifth with times of 4:59.48 and 5:24.94 respectively.
Senior
Kayleigh Macchirole (Greenport, NY/ Bishop McGann-Mercy) claimed second in the 800m as she registered a mark of 2:31.64.
