ResultsNew Britain, CT – The Wagner men's cross country squad was paced by sophomore
Joseph Abbatiello (Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) 44th place finish at the Central Connecticut Mini Meet held at Stanley Quarter Park on Friday afternoon.
The host Blue Devils posted a first-place finish with 52 points, followed by Providence (71), Monmouth (78), Boston University (94) and Yale (120). Abbatiello crossed the finish line with a mark of 15:47 as he led the Green & White for the third time this year as the Seahawks finished 13th out of 15 schools that competed on Friday.
Freshman
Matthew Whalen (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) finished the race with a time of 16:34 to claim 84th as he was closely followed by senior
Darius Moulton (Brisbane, Australia/Gregory Terrace) who placed 86th with a time of 16:35.
Rounding out the performances for the Seahawks on the afternoon was freshman
Dan Ziebarth (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam), who finished 94th with a time of 17:14 and sophomore
Jack Schnorbus (Haymarket, VA/Battlefield) 98th place finish, crossing the finish line with a time of 17:29.
The Green & White will now prepare for the 2015 Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships, which will be held on October 31 in Smithfield, RI on the campus of Bryant University.
