RESULTS

New York, NY – The Wagner women's swimming & diving team dropped a 134-109 decision to Bucknell on Sunday afternoon in a neutral site meet held at Columbia University.

In dropping their second consecutive meet, the Seahawks fall to 8-3-1 on the season while the Bison improve to 7-4 on the year.
 
Wagner's 400-yard medley relay team comprised of sophomores Anu Nihipali (Honolulu, HI/Hawaii Preparatory Academy), Katja Claesson (Fullerton, CA/ Troy), junior Amanda Lucia (Easthampton, MA/ Easthampton) and senior Sam Sides (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) opened the meet with a first-place finish, posting a time of 3:52.38. This was the first of three victories for Nihipali on the afternoon, as she also swept her two individual events, the 50-yard freestyle (24.25), and the 100-yard free in a time of 52.97.

Lucia collected a pair of individual event victories, delivering first-place finishes and nine points each for the Seahawks in the 400-yard IM, touching the wall at 4:32.98, and the 200-yard butterfly, with a time of 2:06.69
 
Freshman Maddie McNichol (Downingtown, PA/Henderson) also picked up points for the Green & White, earning second-place finishes in the 200-yard free, with a time of 1:56.94, in 500-yard free.
 
This would prove to be not enough to get past the Bison. Bucknell diver Tara Boyle took home first-place honors in both the 1-meter diving and 3-meter diving, for the second time this season, scoring a season-high of 265.50 points. Other top performances from the Bison came from Lauren Perry and Emma Levendoski. Perry took first in the 200-yard free while Levendoski won the 200-yard backstroke by over five seconds over teammate Alanna Nawrocki.
 
The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, January 31 when they host Northeast Conference rival St. Francis Brooklyn at 1:00 p.m.
