RESULTS Pictured Above: Senior Morgan StonerBrookville, NY – The Wagner women's swimming & diving team dropped a 141-121 decision to LIU Post on Saturday afternoon, absorbing their first loss in 2015, and second overall, in falling to 8-2-1 on the season.
Sophomore
Grace Baird (Lexington, NC/ West Davidson) collected a pair of wins in her individual events, tallying 18 points for the Green & White, earning a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:43.15 and in the 500-yard, touching the wall at 5:16.61.
Other stellar performances came from freshman
Kristine Sullivan (Overland Park, KS/ Notre Dame de Sion), who garnered first-place honors with a time of 1:57.51 in the 200-yard freestyle, and freshman
Maddie McNichol (Downingtown, PA/ Henderson), who finished right behind Sullivan in taking second place (1:58.71).
Junior Corrine Rondina (Staten Island, NY/ Notre Dame Academy) and senior Sam Sides (Cherry Hill, NJ/ Cherry Hill East) earned a combined seven points for the Green & White in the 50-yard free, with Rondina placing second, clocking in at 24.84, just .03 of a second faster than Sides, who finished third.
Wagner will have a quick turnaround as the Seahawks are right back at it tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., traveling to Columbia University where they will face the Bucknell Bison in a neutral site meet.
