Jacksonville, FL - The Wagner women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-8 decision at Jacksonville this afternoon which, on the heels of Monday's night's 11-10 win at Stetson, gives the Seahawks a split of their two Spring Break games in the state of Florida.
Wagner now owns a record of 3-4 on the season while the Dolphins improve to 5-4.
The Seahawks are next in action on Tuesday, March 25 when they travel to UMBC for a 4:00 pm contest vs. the Retrievers.
An unassisted goal by sophomore
Shea Gegan (Manasquan, NJ/Manasquan), with 10:12 remaining in the first half, drew the Seahawks to within one goal at 3-2. Jacksonville then closed the opening half on a 4-0 run in seizing a 7-2 halftime lead.
The Dolphins opened the second half with another 4-0 burst, making it an 8-0 run spanning the two halves, in building their lead to 11-2. Trailing 13-5, the Seahawks tallied three goals in the game's final 6:58 to get within five goals.
Sophomore
Kimmy Tumolo (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview) led Wagner with two goals while six different players notched one goal apiece in Gegan, senior

Jessica Mills (Vernon Township, NJ/Vernon), sophomore
Stephanie Peterson (Vernon Township, NJ/Vernon), and freshman
Olivia Streilen (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape). Gegan also paced the Seahawks with six groundballs and four caused turnovers.
Sophomore
Katie Ferraro (Owings Mill, MD/McDonogh) went the distance in goal for the Green & White, recording a career-high 23 saves, topping her previous career-best of 14 which she amassed at Lafayette on March 13, 2013.
Taylor McCord led all scorers with seven points on four goals and three assists for Jacksonville, while Danie Dellarocca added three goals. Asia Moore came up with nine saves in goal for the Dolphins.
Jacksonville outshot Wagner 44-22 and held a 39-23 edge in groundballs while winning 18-of-23 draw controls. The Seahawks fared well in free-position shots, sinking 4-of-7 FPOs while Jacksonville was 2-of-10 in this department.
