Loretto, PA - Junior
James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) led Wagner to a fourth-place finish at the 8K Father Bede Invitational in a preview of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship to be held on the course in early November.
Naglieri took second with a time of 26:47 with Craig Hunt of Central Connecticut winning the individual title with a mark of 26:43. Thanks to Hunt's four-second victory, the Blue Devils captured the team title with 24 points. Robert Morris (92 points) was second, followed by Saint Francis U (115 points), Wagner (127 points), Juniata (134 points), Bryant (156 points), Mount St. Mary's (156 points), Sacred Heart (171 points) and Fairleigh Dickinson (232 points).
Junior
Jacob Malakoff (Tasmania, Australia / Friends (Hofstra)) was the second Seahawk to cross the line, placing 21st in 28:30. Senior
Dan Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) finished just behind Malakoff in 26th (28:44) with Sophomore
Darius Moulton (Brisbane, Australia / Gregory Terrace) taking 49th (29:42).
Rounding out the scorers was junior
Tim Mendez (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) in 50th with a mark of 29:48.
The Green & White is next in action on Friday, October 11 at the METS Championship, which will be held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
