Staten Island, NY -The Wagner College softball team was defeated by Northeast Conference foe Monmouth in both ends of an NEC doubleheader on Sunday. The Seahawks fell, 9-0, in the first game, before losing the second game, 6-0. Wagner now stands at 8-25 on the season and 2-6 in NEC play, while Monmouth improves to 19-12 and 8-4 in conference action.
Freshman 
Abigail Beasley (Peoria, AZ/ Centennial) led the Seahawks offensively with a pair of hits on the afternoon, while sophomore 
Kelsey Parker (Lynnwood, WA/ Lynnwood) was on base three times via two walks and a double.
Parker has reached base safely in nine of her past 10 games, and hit safely in eight of her last 10 contests.
Senior 
Carley Nicoletti (Plainville, NY/ CW Baker) showed off her defensive prowess in the fourth inning of game one, coming in to catch a fly ball and then firing to first to double off the retreating runner.
The Seahawks return to action on Wednesday, Apr. 10, when the Green & White host Yale in a doubleheader, beginning at 3:00 pm.
