Kissimmee, FL – The Wagner College softball team fell to North Dakota, 3-1, on Saturday night at the Osceola County Softball Complex. In the defeat, the Seahawks fall to 4-15, while North Dakota improves to 7-17.
Wagner would grab the game's first run in the first inning. Sophomore
Kelsey Parker (Lynnwood, WA/ Lynnwood) worked a leadoff walk, and was pushed over to third after a single by freshman
Abigail Beasley (Peoria, AZ/ Centennial) and junior
Kristen Matteoni (Reno, NV/ Galena) being hit by a pitch. Parker would come home to score on a ground ball hit to short by freshman
Brenda Bott (Fountain Valley, CA/ Fountain Valley), with the force being made at third.
North Dakota would pull ahead with one run in the second and two more in the third for a 3-1 lead. Seahawk pitchers stranded 13 UND runners in the game.
Beasley went 1-for-3 in the game, wrapping up a week in which she hit .457 (16-for-35) at the Rebel Spring Games.
The Seahawks return to action on Saturday, Mar. 23, as the Green & White open Northeast Conference play with a doubleheader against Central Connecticut at 1:00 pm.
