Seahawks Compete At CCSU Mini Meet

Wagner placed ninth out of 15 teams at the 5K CCSU Mini Meet at Stanley Quarter Park in the last tune-up before next week's Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship. Providence won the team-title with 65 points while the Blue Devils' Craig Hunt won the individual crown with a time of 14:58.45.

Central Connecticut finished second with 86 points, followed by Yale (106 points), Stony Brook (111 points), UMass Lowell (114 points), UNH (145 points), Quinnipiac (204 points), UConn (216 points), Wagner (237 points), Fairfield (269 points), Bryant (271 points), Fairleigh Dickinson (336 points), Hartford (339 points), Rhode Island (360 points) and St. Francis Brooklyn (447 points).

As he has done all season, junior James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) paced the Seahawks with a 10th-place finish in 15:19.21. Classmate Jacob Malakoff (Tasmania, Australia / Hofstra) was the next member of the Green & White to cross the line, placing 50th (16:00.54).

Senior Dan Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) took 60th (16:08.25), followed by junior Tim Mendez (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) in 69th (16:17.96).

Rounding out the scorers for Wagner was senior Michael Baio (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) in 77th (16:25.62).

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday, November 2 at the aforementioned conference meet on the campus of Saint Francis University.
