Bronx, NY - Junior
James Naglieri's (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) took fourth at the 8K METS Championship to help lead the Wagner contingent to a sixth-place finish at Van Cortlandt Park.
Naglieri was the first Division I harrier to finish, crossing the tape in 26:18.44 while pacing the Seahawks for the fourth-straight meet to start the season. Thanks to Dylan Karten's first-place showing (26:01.44), NYU won the team team title with 24 points. Columbia (66 points) took second, followed by Fordham (98 points), Rutgers (119 points), Manhattan (150 points), Wagner (173 points), Hofstra (186 points), Seton Hall (199 points), Fairleigh Dickinson (243 points), St. Francis Brooklyn (314 points) and Saint Peter's (325 points).
Junior
Jacob Malakoff (Tasmania, Australia / Friends (Hofstra)) was the next Seahawk to finish, placing 33rd in 27:30.50 and was followed by senior
Dan Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) in 55th (28:18.11).
Sophomore
Darius Moulton (Brisbane, Australia / Gregory Terrace) finished 74th in 29:02.70 with senior
Michael Baio (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) rounding out the scorers in 77th (29:12.68).
Wagner returns to action on Friday, October 25 at the 5K CCSU Mini Meet.
