Lee & Ieraci Lead Seahawks In Stellar Individual Competition

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College diving team boasted some stellar performances in their final dual competition before the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships on Friday, as the squad travelled just down the road to the College of Staten Island for a non-conference matchup.

The Green & White were led by freshman standout Mallory Lee (Newark, CA / Moreau Catholic) who won both the one and three meter boards, scoring a personal best and school record 244.125 on the three meter, before posting a 196.575 on the one. The two wins mark the third time the five-time NEC Diver of the Week has won both boards at an individual competition.

An NEC Diver of the Week honoree from last season, junior Josephine Ieraci (Staten Island, NY / Notre Dame Academy) had her best finish of the of the year, recording a personal best 183.60 on the three meter board, earning a second-place finish. Edmonds scored a personal best 120.00 on the one meter board in her first competition since 2011, as she was sidelined with a back injury and missed most of the 2011-2012 year. Adler, the newest member of the Wagner squad, scored an 83.925 in her first competition as a Seahawk.

"Friday was a great end to our dual meet season,” said diving coach Kelly Mohr. “It was nice to see all the girls on the boards and get a chance to compete against a Staten Island rival team. I'm looking forward to seeing more outstanding performances in Boston."

The Seahawks swimming & diving team will be back in action on February 22, when they head to the Bay State to compete in the NEC Championships, being held in Boston, MA.
