Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's basketball team will host Mount St. Mary's in the opening game of a Northeast Conference (NEC) “Rivalry Week” doubleheader on Alumni Day today at 4:00 pm with the Wagner-Mount men's game to follow at 7:00 pm.
During “Rivalry Week”, each NEC team plays another league foe two consecutive times. Wagner is partnered with Mount St. Mary's, thus the women's team will host the Mountaineers today before traveling to Emmitsburg, MD on Wednesday, February 15 to face the Mount at 7:00 pm.
The men's team “Rivalry Week” matchups began at Mount St. Mary's this past Wednesday as the Seahawks defeated the Mount 59-44. The Wagner and Mount St. Mary's men's teams will meet in the nightcap of today's doubleheader at 7:00 pm.
The Seahawk women's program will honor its past with its annual Alumni Day, an event where all former Seahawks letterwinners are invited back to campus. In addition to experiencing the Wagner-Mount St. Mary's game, the former Seahawks will be honored at halftime before gather for a post-game celebration that will take place in the Spiro Center's VIP Room.
A host of Wagner's all-time greats are expected back, including several members of the Seahawks' 1,000-point club. The newest member of this elite fraternity will be in uniform as current Seahawk senior center 3
Kelly Clark# (Neptune, NJ/ St. Rose) hit the 1,000-point plateau on January 28 at Quinnipiac. The 6-3 Clark enters today's play with 1,042 career points and has a chance to move up several notches on the all-time list today. Just ahead of Clark in 21
st place is 2010 Wagner Hall of Famer Brenda Milano at 1,046 points, while Toni Roker (199-03) is in 20
th place with 1,049 points, right behind Jenny Frazier (1992-96) who scored 1,051 career points.
Clark leads the Seahawks in scoring (13.9 ppg.) and rebounding (7.3 rpg.) while shooting a team-best 50 percent from the field.

Gela Mikalauskas, a 1991 inductee into the Wagner Hall of Fame. Mikalauskas is not the only member of the Seahawk Hall of Fame on the Wagner coaching staff. Assistant coach
Maureen Hannafin (known as Moe Coughlin in her playing days), was inducted in 2004. Hannafin is the third-leading scorer in Wagner history with 1,612 points, led the Seahawks to the 1989 NEC Championship and is the became the first and only women's basketball player in Seahawk history to earn NEC Player of the Year honors .
“When we welcome our former Seahawks back to campus today, we are recognizing and paying tribute to the effort, sacrifice and teamwork they displayed while representing the Green & White,” Milalauskas added. “We thank all of the alumni for the foundation that they established here at Wagner.”
