Seahawks Second at Monmouth Invitational

RESULTS

West Long Branch, NJ
– Four women were victorious on the day along with two Men at the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday. The Women's team tallied a total of 82 points, while the Men scored 82 at the opening indoor event of the Seahawks season.

The Spector siblings were both victorious in the mile run, as sophomore Victoria Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) crossed the line in 5:29.68, while her senior brother Zach Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) finished first in 4:21.06.

The Women also got victories from sophomore Emily Pereira (Howell, NJ / Freehold Township) in the 600m run at 1:40.11, while fellow sophomore Nicole Cooper was the winner in the triple jump at 10.97 meters (36 feet, 0 inches).

On the Men's side, freshman Skylar Johnson (Point Plesant, NJ / Point Pleasant Borough) was a first-place finisher in the pole vault, clearing 4.42 meters (14 feet, 6 inches).

Assistant Track & Field Coach Keith Onto was impressed with the team's performance at the opening indoor meet of the season.

 “We had solid performances all around today were happy to start the season off on a good note,” Onto said. “We now know which areas to work on going forward.”

The Seahawks will compete again next weekend, traveling to The Bronx to take part in the Fordham Christmas Classic, on Saturday, December 7th.
