Keith Onto

Keith Onto embarks on his second season as an Assistant Track & Field Coach.

A 2011 graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), Onto trained and competed mainly in the decathlon competition while also serving as a co-captain of the Retrievers.  Onto currently holds UMBC’s school records in the decathlon, heptathlon and shuttle hurdles in addition to the America East Conference record in the decathlon with 7,239 points. 

Ranked first in the Mid-Atlantic Region in 2010 in the decathlon, Onto was a five time All-East performer, an NCAA provisional qualifier and was recognized as the America East Athlete of the Week two times.  Following the conclusion of the 2010 season, Onto ranked 26th in the NCAA in decathlon and entered his senior campaign ranked 16th in the nation. 

A five time UMBC Athlete of the Week, Onto also served as a part time high jump and throwing instructor for high school students in Baltimore, MD.  A native of Point Pleasant, NJ, Onto earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Economics from UMBC in 2011.  In addition to his coaching duties, Onto will be working towards his MBA in Finance.
