FINAL RESULTS
New Britain, CT - Fueled by senior
Zachary Spector's (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) fifth-place finish, the Wagner men's cross country team took sixth out of 10 teams at the Ted Owen Invitational. Northeastern won the team title with 33 points while American International's (AIC) Glarius Rap claimed the individual championship with a time of 24:55.
In arguably his most impressive race of the year, Spector was the second-fastest Northeast Conference (NEC) runner on the day finishing just behind Central Connecticut State's (CCSU) Sam Alexander with a mark of 26:24 on the eight kilometer course.
Sophomore
Daniel Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) was the next Seahawk to cross the finish line, placing 15th in 27:08.
Taking third on the team and 21st overall was senior
Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) in 27:37.
Freshmen
James Naglieri (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) was 30th in 27:53 before classmate
Timothy Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) rounded out the scorers for the Green & White with a 60th-place finish (29:35).
Northeastern won the aforementioned team title and was followed by AIC (99), UConn (102), CCSU (126), Hartford (126), Wagner (131), Rhode Island (128), Bryant (192), Marist (192) and Fairleigh Dickinson (282).
The Seahawks return to action on Friday, October 7 with their participation in the METS Championships at Van Cortland Park.
