FINAL RESULTS
New Britain, CT - The Wagner men's cross country team prepped for next week's Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship at the 5K CCSU Mini-Meet at Stanley Park. The Seahawks finished sixth out of seven teams with 146 points while resting two of of their top-four runners.
The host Blue Devils won the team-title with 27 points followed by Providence (73 points), Bryant (101 points), Stony Brook (101 points), Quinnipiac (119 points), Wagner (146 points) and Rhode Island (149 points). Providence's Alex Wallace won the individual title with a course-record time of 14:46.
Senior
Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY / Longwood) led the Seahawk charge with an eighth-place finish in 15:32. Not far behind the three-time All-NEC harrier was sophomore
Dan Zaccariello (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea), who placed 12th in 15:47.
Freshman
Tim Mendez (West Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) was third on the team and 40th overall in 17:11 with sophomore
Michael Baio (Staten Island, NY / St. Joseph By The Sea) taking 42nd (17:17) and senior
Dylan Moulton (Saco, ME / Thornton Academy) 44th (19:17), rounding out the Green & White competitors.
The Wagner men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 am when the Seahawks take part in the 8K NEC Championship hosted by Monmouth University at Holmdel Park.
On the women's side sophomore
Francis Zuniga (Levittown, NY / Island Trees) was the lone competitor for the Green & White. She finished the 3K race in 51st place with a mark of 12:22.
