Men Finish Seventh at John Covert Classic

TEAM RESULTS

Bethlehem, PA – Sophomores Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) and Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY/Longwood) finished second and third respectively in the 3000 meter run at the 18th John Covert Classic Saturday evening in Lehigh University's Rauch Field House. Overall, the men finished in seventh place at the event.

Both Iannacone and Spector broke the nine-minute mark in the 3000 meter run event. Iannacone set a new season-best mark with his 8:53.60 finish – bettering his previous season-best mark of 9:04.7h set on December 11th. Spector was not far behind, finishing third out of 21 athletes with a time of 8:53.60.

Other impressive finishes include senior Kevin Kearney (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep), who took fifth place out of 15 athletes in the 500 meter dash with a 1:09.31 finish. His time is Wagner's third-best finish this season. Also finishing in the top-five was freshman Marquis McMillian (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Ridgefield Park), who leaped 1.83 meters in the High Jump event for fourth place honors.

Wagner returns to action next week at the METS Winter Championship in New Haven, CT.
