Kissimmee, FL-
The Wagner College Softball team split a pair of games at the Rebel Games. In game one, the Seahawks fell to Army 6-2, before freshman Vanessa Lenart's (Fontana, CA / Henry J. Kaiser HS) three-run home run gave the Green & White a 4-3 comeback victory over Manhattan in the nightcap.

In game two, the Jaspers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, plating runners off a Wagner miscue and a sacrifice fly. In the third inning, the Jaspers notched another run on an RBI double to right center, extending the lead to 3-0.

Wagner rallied back in the bottom of the fourth behind the power of Lenart, as the rookie knocked a three-run homer over the left field fence, scoring junior Kate Eshelman (Reno, NV / McQueen) and   senior Jaclyn Vanore (Palisades Park, NJ / Paramus Catholic), to tie the game at 3-3.

Senior Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV / Wooster) brought the Seahawk comeback full circle with a walk-off RBI single up the middle, driving home sophomore Emily Pierce (Phoenix, AZ / Desert Vista) to give Wagner the 4-3 win.

Eshelman hurled a complete game, striking out three over 7.0 innings of work. With the win, the junior  hurler improves to 1-5 on the season.

In game one, the Seahawks got off to a rough start by spotting Army a six-run lead. The Black Knights first set of runs came in the bottom of the third off a two-run single to right center, making it 2-0 Army. In the bottom of the fourth, the Black Knights knocked home two more runs on a pair of RBI singles. Army extended the lead to 6-0 with single runs in the fifth and sixth frames.

Wagner mounted a comeback in the seventh when Vanore smashed a two-run homer over the left field fence, scoring Garcia but that is as close a Wagner would get.

In the circle, freshman Kaelynn Armenta (Whittier, CA / Paul HS) (1-6) took the loss, recording two strikeouts while yielding three earned runs over 3.1 innings of work.

The Seahawks (4-12) return to action Thursday, March 19 when they face Saint Peter's College at 1:00 pm and Cornell University at 3:00 pm.
