Men Split the Field at METS Championship

The Wagner College Men's Cross Country team finished seventh out of 13 teams at the New York Metropolitan Cross Country Championships held in Van Cortland Park in Riverdale, New York. Sophomore Zachary Spector (Yapank, NY/Longwood) led the Seahawks for the fourth straight event. His 26:59 finish in the 8K run earned him 24th place in the race and Wagner's top-spot for the12th time in their last 13 meets.

Behind Spector was sophomore Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) and graduate student Brian Halling (Amherst, NH/Souhegan). Iannocone took 33rd place with a 27:18 finish, while Halling finishing 39th at 27:36.

Rounding out the points for the Seahawks were junior Thomas Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) and freshman Matt Driscoll (Lewiston, ME/Lewiston). Rammelkamp finished 54th at 28:19. Driscoll added his 28:49 finish for 60th place.

Wagner finished with 210 points in seventh place. Winning the event with a score of 45 points was Columbia University.

The men return to action on October 17th, when they travel to Albany, NY for the Albany Invitational.
