Kearney’s Fourth Place Finish Leads Team

A fourth-place finish in the 800 meter dash from junior Kevin Kearney (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep) was Wagner College's best finish at the Gotham Cup held in New York, NY on Friday. Kearney's impressive finish was one of eight top-25 finishes for the Seahawks.

Kearney finished the 800 meter dash in the 1:59.77 to claim top honors for the Seahawks. Freshman teammate Robert MacDonald (Dix Hills, NY/Commack) was not far behind, finishing 12th overall with a time of 2:01.20.

Sophomores Derek Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) and Thomas Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/ Miller Place) made their mark in the 5000 meter run. Derek finished at 15:48.65 in fifth place, while Thomas registered a 16:22.50 mark for tenth place honors. Brian Halling (Amherst, NH/Souhegan) finished seventh in the seeded competition at 15:12.36.

Freshman Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) led the Seahawks with a 4:33.02 finish in the 1 mile run. He finished 23rd overall.

The Wagner College Relay teams fair well finishing the 4x400m relay 13th at 3:28.13 and the 4x800m relay in 8:30.49 for 14th place honors.
