Bronx, NY – The Wagner men's cross country team closed out its historic 2008 season with a 16th place finish at the 2008 ECAC/IC4A Championships hosted by Fordham University.
The core of the Green & White pack stayed together as freshman Zachary Spector (Yaphank, NY/Longwood), graduate student Brian Halling (Amherst, NH/Souhegan) and sophomore brother Derek & Thomas Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) all finished within 11 seconds of each other.
Spector topped off a spectacular rookie season with a 49th place finished with a time of 26:47. Halling followed close behind in his last collegiate cross country race, finishing out in 55th at 26:53. D. Rammelkamp finished next for the Seahawks with a time of 26:56 with T. Rammelkamp just steps behind, brining in a time of 26:58. Closing out the Seahawk runners was junior James Johnston (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) who put together a 28:38 performance.
This meet ends the 2008 season for the Green & White as the Seahawks have brought home quite a bit of success back to Grymes Hill. The team had their best finish at the NEC Championships in program history this year by finishing fourth, six members of the team clocked in personal bests at the Albany Invitational while Spector was named the NEC Rookie of the week three times and received All-NEC status for his performance at the NEC Champoinships.
