Junior Matthew Kane (Horsham, PA / Hatboro-Horsham) is the Wagner College Walsh Electrical Contracting Men’s Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of May. Kane was a two-time individual award winner at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships at Saint Francis U, finishing first in the high jump at 2.01 meters (6'7"), a mark that qualified him for the 2014 NCAA East Regional Championships (May 29-31) in Jacksonville, FL. Kane also placed second in the long jump at outdoor NEC’s with a leap of 7.08 meters (23'2.75"). On the season, Kane had a personal best of 6'10.25" in the high jump, which came at the Wagner Invitational (March 22). While he was unable to eclipse this mark at the NCAA’s in Jacksonville, the junior did clear the opening height, which was set at 6'6.75”.
