Baseball Announces The Class Of 2028 Additions

Staten Island, NY - Head coach Craig Noto of the Wagner baseball team has announced the team's additions from the class of 2028. Eleven players will be joining the Seahawks ahead of the 2025 season.

"Recruiting classes are the bloodline of your program and I feel that our assistant coaches have done an incredible job of identifying great student-athletes that embody what being a Seahawk is about," Noto said. "This class has a wealth of depth on both the position player and pitching sides of the ball. We have been able to dip into a more national pool of talent and assemble a roster that we feel very confident in heading into the new year. These young men have really separated themselves and I'm excited to see what they do between the lines."

Luke Picone - INF - Fishkill, NY

Was a two-time sectional and regional champion while at Roy C. Ketcham. Picone also won the 2023 New York state championship with his high school. Individually, Picone was twice named All-League and named All-County once.

Dylan Simeone - C - Gilbertsville, PA

Earned the distinction of being named Pioneer Athletic Conference (PAC-10) First Team All-League. Simeone was also named First Team All-Area.

Andrew Marquis - C - Lincroft, NJ

Won Shore Conference All-Star Game and was a division all-star. Marquis also earned his high school's gold glove award in 2024.

Jacob Griess - INF - Barrington, NJ

Griess was a four-year varsity starter who collected a school record 135 career hits. He led New Jersey in doubles in 2022 and was named All-Colonial Conference First Team three times in his career at Haddon Heights. Griess's team were runners up in NJSIAA Group 2 in 2022. Individually, he was named to the All-South Jersey Group 2 team twice. 

Jayden Alvarez - INF - South Plainfield, NJ

Selected as a Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) All-Conference player, as well as an All-Area First Team representative. Alvarez was named All-Division twice during his high school career and was also named to the GMC All-Academic team.

Matt Sutera - INF - Staten Island, NY

A three-year varsity starter who earned captain status by his senior season, Sutera also was a Gold Glove recipient and Staten Island Advance All-Star during his career at Monsignor Farrell. 

Dustin McGuinness - INF, East Brunswick, NJ

Collected 96 career hits during his time at East Brunswick. Was selected as all-conference four times and was once selected to the All-Group 4 team.

William Grayson - RHP - Mays Landing, NJ

Was a four year varsity starter, first team all-conference selection and team MVP while at Oakcrest. Grayson was also selected as a Tri-Cape Carpenter Cup representative and was a three-time USA Baseball NTIS selection.

Frankie Nardo - RHP - Hershey, PA

Selected twice as the most valuable pitcher at IMG Academy.

Paden Mather - RHP - Teaneck, NJ

Recorded a 2.74 ERA and 74 strikeouts during his final season at Northern Highlands Regional.

Jeffrey Germosen - RHP - Haverstraw, NY

Three-year varsity athlete for Saint Joseph Regional baseball team. Germosen was named All-County and All-State and ended his high school career on a high note by winning the 2024 Bergen County tournament.

"We have a lot of work to do this fall to put all of the pieces in place and we look forward to getting after it with this group," Noto said. "This is an exciting time for our program and we look forward to ushering in another successful season on the diamond."
