Biography

Caleb Scepaniak, after serving the past three seasons as an understudy to All-NEC tight end Ryan Owens, is looking to use his experience, size and athleticism to come into his own in his final season as a Seahawk in 2017.

2016: Saw action in 10 games and contributed career highs in both receptions (6) and receiving yards (66) … Also proved to be a dependable blocker at the line of attack … Had two catches for a career-high 43 yards vs. Concordia (9/10) which included a career-long 22-yard grab … Business Administration major.

2015: Played in all 11 games, starting in three; vs. Rice (9/5), Lafayette (9/26), and Robert Morris (10/3) … Used primarily as a blocker, totaled 50 yards on 6 receptions … Recorded a season high 26 yards on two receptions vs. Monmouth (9/19)… Also had a season-long 14-yard reception in the game against Monmouth.

2014: Saw action in eight games … Gained his lone career start vs. Saint Francis U (10/11) … Recorded two receptions for 14 yards on the season … First career catch went for five yards at FIU (9/6) … Also had a nine-yard reception in the 26-0 victory over Alderson Broaddus (10/4).

2013: Did not see game action.

Before Wagner: Helped lead the Tigers to a 9-2 record in 2012 … Versatile performer … Widely recruited student-athlete … Began his prep career at Seton-Catholic HS in Binghamton, NY where he was his team’s starting quarterback … Was recruited by several schools as a signal-caller.
